I just read the article and was impressed with the effectiveness of the Mission Possible program. There was obviously a lot of thought and planning that went into implementing this program to turn the schools from low functioning schools to schools that are encouraged by results in just two years. I thought it was very interesting to read about the amount of teacher in-put that went into the planning stages. Also, the school district really looked at alternative ways to finance the program; nothing was mentioned about raising taxes to support Mission Possible. It was enlightening to read about a school district's success story.

I thought it was great to see a group of people put their mind and effort to something great and be successful. I thought the teachers had alot of input which helped the process. Education is way behind other fields when it comes to incentives and rewarding great work were some observations I saw.

O.K.-first of all I have to be honest and say that I picked this article because I was imagining our presentation to the class having Joe or Eric playing Tom Cruise in the leading role as we presented using the musical intelligence!!
Seriously, this article reinforced the fact that quality teachers do make a difference. The six lessons learned are important ones to consider in all schools-as we are all working with low income, disadvantaged families. And, teachers do need to be adequately
compensated for their work!

I give this group of people that were all involved so much credit. They have a true passion for what they believe in. When you believe, when you are genuine in your true feelings, when you want to do what is right, many things that seem impossible are possible.

I think all schools could benefit from this type of planning. It was great that teachers were asked what would help them do their jobs better. These ideas helped to attract dedicated people who were able to succeed. I wish our administration would ask our opinions more. I think great things would be accomplished. This article gave me hope that things maybe changing in education.
